My name is Cecil Irving, and I am a self-taught artist
living in the hills of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Most of my "education"
has come from visiting museums all over the country as well as
Europe.
My greatest influences are Sargent, Whistler, Chase,
Eakins, and other American greats. I try to paint at least
one oil painting every day, and enjoy using deft brushwork
to capture the elegance of the subject.
My subjects vary anywhere from formal portraits
to the everyday man or people or artists engaged in their work.
