If
you've come to this page, you probably have a passion
for art, like myself. Most likely, you've been painting
every day, or most days of the week. You've
created a blog, listing your artwork for sale.
The
trouble is, you haven't been selling as many of your paintings
that you would like to. So you might have wondered if
you've been pricing the paintings too high, and
so, decided to lower the prices. Then you realized
that you were still selling the same amount of
paintings per month!
Now, you know that you take pride in your artwork, so
it's not the quality of the painting that's an
issue. Then
what's the problem?
If
all of this sounds familiar, then all I can tell you is that
I've been there!I'm an artist
that has sold over 1,000 paintings online in the last 3 years.
See my own online
gallery, and find out more about me here.
I've learned a lot, and one of the lessons that I've learned
is:
If your art isn't seen by
the right people, then it will not sell.
Who
are 'the right people', you ask? The right person
is simply: the person that is interested in your
painting, and buys it. The bottom line is that
the more people that get to see your art, the more
chance you have of selling it.
That's the reason why commercials during the Super
Bowl are so expensive- there are SO MANY people
watching the event, thus, maximum exposure!
So,
I guess that I should clarify, and also say,
'if
your art isn't being seen by enough
people, then it may not sell!
BLOGS
Blogs
are a great thing, but when it comes to the statement above,
it's most likely the cause of flat sales from a blog. Not
enough people are visiting your blog to see your artwork!
Besides that, the single file page kind of takes the fun out
of browsing artwork!
DAILY
ART PAINTERS WEBSITE - APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED
At
the Daily Art Painters Gallery,
we'll make a thumbnail image of your latest work,
and place it on the front page of the website.
The thumbnails are generated randomly each day
for position, but I'm sure that you'll see how
the layout is easy on the eyes, regardless of the
position of the thumbnail.
You'll
have your own bio page, with pertinent information,
and your latest blog entry. Links
are placed to allow collectors easy access to your
blog and auctions, where they can purchase
a painting, or contact you for more information.
We
have Adwords and Microsoft AdCenter accounts
where we advertise with keywords related to painting,
thus directing traffic to our website.
Now,
I'm not saying that I can guarantee that your sales
will go through the roof. No honest person will tell you that,
since there are other factors to consider: subject matter,
composition, and quality of your paintings, just to
name a few. But wouldn't you like to tip the balance in your
favor?
